November 20:  A few years ago Reena was a hockey player of repute, representing the State and last year when she was diagnosed of having ‘dilated cardiomiapathy’; the world came crashing at her feet – all her dreams shattered. But there was a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel when Dr. Cherian from Chennai called up and told her that a heart was waiting for her.

Reena is the first and youngest lady of Karnataka who has received a cadaver heart. On 19th November 2010, Reena completed one year of heart transplant surgery.  'Music for Soul’ in association with ‘Treamis World School’ commemorated the memory of the unknown donor by supporting  ‘Light a life’ concert.  The Program featured performance by Reena herself who enthralled the audience with her mesmerizing voice touching the chord of every individual heart. The Band - Rock of Life which played popular numbers complimented the show, with musicians like Mr. Hamid, an 8th grade guitar player. 

Treamis is supporting Reena's campaign to create awareness on organ donation.  This will bring a ray of hope to patients who are on a waitlist for organ transplants. “I am alive because an angel donated his heart”, says Reena.
